  2. Tap the style you want and it’s copied. Tap ♥ on your favourites to keep them together for next time.
  3. Open Instagram, go to Edit Profile (or open a caption, comment or story text box) and paste.

Want a border, hearts or a kaomoji around your name? Open the ⌨ ꧁꧂ panel to add symbols, wrappers and emoji before you copy – everything comes out as one line of text, ready for Instagram.

Where Instagram fonts work (and the one place they don’t)

Instagram has no font setting, but every field you can type in accepts Unicode text, so fonts for Instagram work in almost all of them. The only exception is the @username.

Instagram bio font

Your bio holds 150 characters, and many styled letters count as two, so a fully styled bio fits roughly 75 letters. The Instagram bio font setup that works best on real profiles is one styled line – a title, a tagline or your niche – with the rest in plain text. Keep the words people search for (your city, your craft, your brand name) plain too, because Instagram search matches plain letters most reliably.

Instagram name font

Instagram gives you two names. The @username accepts only lowercase letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so no Instagram name font will save there. The Name field above your bio is different: it accepts any Unicode text up to 30 characters, shows in search results next to your handle, and is where a styled name makes a profile recognisable. Paste your styled name there and leave the @username plain so people can still tag and find you.

Instagram caption font

Captions allow 2,200 characters, but the feed shows only about the first 125 before “…more”. That first line is your hook, and an Instagram caption font in bold or script makes it stand out from the plain captions around it. Keep the body of the caption plain for easy reading, and always type hashtags and @mentions in normal letters – a styled #hashtag isn’t recognised as a tag and won’t link.

Instagram story fonts

Stories come with a few built-in Instagram story fonts of their own (Classic, Modern, Neon, Typewriter and more). To go beyond them, copy an IG font from this page and paste it into the story text box – the styled letters keep their shape whichever built-in style you pick, so you can mix both. The same text works for Reels captions and Highlight titles.

Comments, DMs and Notes

Comments, replies, direct messages and Notes all accept pasted text, so a short styled comment stands out under a busy post, and a styled Note appears in your friends’ inbox exactly as you copied it.

IG font styles you can copy here

Instagram fonts on this page are grouped by mood, so you can match the style to the post. A few of the most-used families, shown in the style itself:

  • 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 – the classic look for the Name field and bio headlines
  • 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 – caption hooks and anything that must be read at a glance
  • 𝘐𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤 – quotes, credits and soft taglines
  • ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ – clean, minimal bios that still look designed
  • ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ – playful Highlight titles and comments
  • 𝕆𝕦𝕥𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕖 – headers that need to pop on a crowded feed
  • 𝔅𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢𝔯 – edgy music, gaming and streetwear pages
  • ᵗⁱⁿʸ – subtle subtitles and second lines under a name

Pair any style with hearts, stars, borders and kaomoji from the cool symbols collection, or use the fancy text generator when you want text decorated with emoji and symbol wrappers.

Why IG fonts paste anywhere

Nothing here is a font file – Instagram wouldn’t let you install one anyway. Each style in this Instagram font generator is a set of Unicode characters, the same standard that carries emoji: the 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 “a” is a different character from the plain “a”, not the same letter dressed up. Because it’s text, it survives copy and paste, works in any box that accepts typing, and displays on any device that has those characters. That’s also why the same copied text works on Threads, TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp and Discord without changes.

Tips for Instagram fonts that stay readable

  • Style one element, not everything. Name plus one bio line looks intentional; five styles look broken.
  • Bold, italic, script and small caps have the widest device support. Rarer styles can show as boxes on older phones – check your profile on your own phone before you’re done.
  • Keep anything searchable plain: username, hashtags, @mentions, links and the keyword you want to be found for.
  • Screen readers may spell styled letters one at a time, so never put important details – prices, phone numbers, dates – in a styled font.
  • If Instagram cuts your bio short, it’s the double-count: trim the styled part first.
  • Pick one or two styles and reuse them across your name, Highlights and captions so the whole profile feels like one brand.

Instagram fonts FAQ

Can you change the font on Instagram?

Not from settings – Instagram has no font option for bios, names, captions or comments. Instagram fonts work by pasting Unicode-styled text, which is exactly what this page makes. Stories are the only place with built-in text styles.

Do Instagram fonts work in the username?

No. The @username accepts only letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Put the styled version in the Name field, which accepts any text up to 30 characters.

Do IG fonts count against the 150-character bio limit?

Yes, and many styled letters count as two characters. Style one line and keep the rest plain to stay under the limit.

Why do some Instagram fonts show as boxes or question marks?

The viewer’s device doesn’t have that character. Bold, italic, script and small caps display almost everywhere; test rarer styles on your own phone first.

Can I use these as Instagram story fonts?

Yes. Paste the copied text into the story text box, or into Reels captions and Highlight titles. It keeps its style alongside Instagram’s built-in story text options.

Will Instagram fonts hurt my reach or get my account flagged?

No. It’s ordinary Unicode text, allowed in every field. The only trade-offs are practical: styled hashtags and mentions don’t link, and styled words aren’t matched by search, so keep those plain.

Are these fonts for Instagram free?

Yes. Unlimited copies, no sign-up and no app – open this page whenever you need a new style.

Do the same fonts work on Threads, TikTok and Facebook?

Yes. Copy once and paste anywhere that accepts text; the characters are the same on every platform.
